Well my first day on twitter was terrible. The right word? Aimless. I knew no one and certainly no one knew me. It was something i had not tried before...and i was failing at it.
There was the big problem; an 'artificial' disaster of my country...unstable internet connection. One day on, three days off!
One full month and sadly no improvement. *chuckle*
Then, if i remember correctly, i checked the public timeline and met someone, Christa Abraham, her username's @seizemusic. She was my first friend on twitter.
Then i started following writers and cool people who affected my life like Gina Stark, Kristen Howe, Lorena Heletea & a host of others.
I even fell in 'love' with Cristina Huidiu. An amazing lady, with an outstanding intellect. *whispering* She's my twitter backbone and she doesn't know it. Lol.
I appreciate twitter, it has broken several 'notions' i've had about whites. They were not bad mind you, just based on what hollywood showed...quite shallow.
I was even surprised that no one minded my age; it is something that most people can't overlook.
Twitter has provided a way for me to get past societal barriers and show people who i am...not just a typical African, someone who has been blessed with talents, and who intends to use them wisely.
It's the only way i can reach the world...for now. *smile*
Talk about being yourself and having fun.
And now, i have to stop...or my mom will scream my name out of existence.
